Mobo Treasures Community Donations
Congratulations to the keen-eyed team at Mobo Group Elizabeth Salvage and Save who recovered and recycled the bike pictured above for sale. This clever case of reselling discarded goods netted the business some $1,400 in sales which is fantastic.
More significantly, it is these achievements which put a spark in everyone’s step. I love hearing the excitement in the voice of Site Manager Tracy when she calls to inform me of the sales, and I know the positivity that flows amongst all employees at the site when these events occur.
This is but one of the many outstanding events which takes place each and every day across Mobo Group.
The activities of our Salvage and Save Operations at Elizabeth, Goolwa and Totness just outside Mount Barker, play an integral role in reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill at these waste transfer stations. This waste reduction plays an important role in reducing the cost of dumping fees for people in the community, also reducing the cost of waste transfer operations and is of course a great benefit for our environment.
More and more, the community we serve see the value of our work as we make the disposal of their unwanted goods more convenient by coordinating the pickup and collection of appropriate items whilst also engaging people with disability, providing them meaningful and enjoyable employment.
Each week we receive donation offers from across the South Australian community.
These donations are so important to the long-term sustainability of these operations and we are hugely grateful for every contact made with us.
Let’s all keep working to make the environment better and by doing so, enabling people with disabilities to be the best they can be.
Congratulations to not only Tracy and the Elizabeth operations team, but to the entire Mobo team for the fine work you do every day.
